Zhuji City in eastern China has become the world's largest hosiery production base, manufacturing approximately 25 billion pairs of socks annually, which accounts for roughly one-third of the world's total sock production. This achievement is attributed to high-tech sock-making machines and an efficient supply chain. China gained competitiveness in the global sock trade in 2015 with the introduction of domestically developed automatic sock and hosiery machines.
