Chinese and Nauruan officials anticipate that the resumption of diplomatic ties will usher in a new era of progress. The reopening ceremony of the Chinese embassy in the Pacific island country took place in a hotel in the south-eastern part of Nauru, with nearly 100 attendees. The unveiling of the Chinese embassy's plaque was conducted by Nauru's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Lionel Aingimea, and Luo Zhaohui, head of the China International Development Cooperation Agency.
