China's carbon trading market is evolving, with new industries now included in the China Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) scheme, a key tool to meet the country's "dual carbon" goals. The scheme allows carbon-emitting businesses to offset their emissions by purchasing carbon credits from credit-holding entities. In Sichuan Province, a pioneering afforestation project aimed at creating a carbon sink is one of the first CCER forest carbon initiatives.
