Japan's Noto Peninsula continues to bear the brunt of seismic activity, with a recent series of earthquakes exacerbating the damage caused by the devastating New Year's Day quake. The latest tremors have resulted in cracks on road surfaces, with some sections collapsing under the strain. The central Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa, already grappling with the aftermath of a major 7.6-magnitude earthquake on New Year's Day, has reported at least 62 casualties.
