Drought Affects Maize Production in Cameroon

Cameroon is experiencing a drought that has farmers worried about their harvest. There has been no rain since July despite sowing in June, threatening to wipe out entire crops. Caterpillars are also a menace that has affected around 1000 farmers pushing the country to the brink of famine. Experts say climate change manifestation is behind the disrupted rainfall that has resulted in high maize prices. Farmers are contemplating abandoning maize for short-cycle crops.
