Automatic Weaving Machine in Burkina Faso

Weaving one cloth a day of Faso DanFani has inspired the creation of an automatic solar-powered weaving machine. Made entirely from local spare parts, three electric motors drive the weaving and ribbon winding on the machine which has low electric consumption and an average lifespan of 20 years, capable of more than 5 cloths a day. However, some traditional weavers decry the lack of funds to acquire the machine. The main challenge has been cutting the manufacturing cost.
