South Sudanese Feel Squeeze from Soaring Water Prices

The Juba city water infrastructure was developed more than 80 years ago for a city of 2000 people, and cannot support the current population of close to half a million, hence most of the residents depend on privately owned water tankers for water, whose price is continuously soaring. Despite the Nile passing through the city, the infrastructure is yet to be developed. The government says it lacks the budget to develop the infrastructure to supply the whole city.
