Rebecca Kadaga, the Ugandan Minister of East African Community Affairs, emphasized that stringent quality controls are now being enforced to address the issue. Agnes Kirabo, a food policy analyst at the Food Rights Alliance, noted that contamination from chemicals, such as pesticides, has led to rejections of Ugandan grains in key markets.
