In China, silk clothing is once again coming into vogue thanks in part to the "guochao," or "China chic" trend that embraces a revival of traditional culture. In the eastern metropolis of Hangzhou, known as the "City of Silk," one company that specializes in silk "guochao" garments says their sales have grown by more than 30 percent over the past months. The renewed interest in silk fashion comes despite the increase in costs of silk fabrics and raw materials.
