China News: Rising Shuttlecock Prices Hit China's Badminton Scene

In China, the game of badminton is becoming more and more expensive amid soaring prices for the raw materials needed to make shuttlecocks. Also called birdies, the projectiles used for the game are often made with real duck or goose feathers, whose market scarcity is causing prices to shoot up. The increased prices are certainly not welcome news in a country where badminton is one of the most popular sports with some 250 million participants.
