Kenyan entertainer Kevin Bahati was on Tuesday, 10th March, summoned at the Milimani Law Courts over his ongoing lawsuit against fellow musician Peter Munyaru aka Peter Blessings.

Bahati has sued Peter Blessings on grounds of obtaining Ksh 2,030,000 from Kelvin Kioko by falsely pretending that he was able to produce music videos with EMB records, on January 28th.

As the case progressed in mid-morning, the prosecutor requested to have Bahati testify but the singer was not around. Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi adjourned the case to 3pm in order to have Bahati, who is the complainant, testify.

Orange suit and black sunglasses..

Bahati, who admitted it was his first time appearing in court, walked in an orange suit and black sunglasses. He was with the investigating officer Jack Onyango, and was later joined by fellow artiste Weezdom.

A police officer guarding the door to the court room asked Bahati to remove the sunglasses in respect of the courtroom.

Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi asked why Bahati was not in court in the morning and the prosecutor said that the complainant, Bahati, was unwell then.

Bahati Speaks on Peter Blessings

Termination of contract..

The gospel singer explained that his former signee, (Peter Blessings) was arrested and taken to court for breach of contract.

Bahati stated that Blessing walked out of his label without bothering to terminate his contract and went ahead to announce to the public that he had parted ways with MBA.

Despite knowing that Peter Blessing had breached the contract, Bahati stopped his legal team against taking action on him until he was served with a demand letter from lawyers who were representing Peter Blessing.

Case before court..

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Bahati disclosed how determined he was to help Peter Blessings but failed to address how he got Peter and his producer Paulo arrested. The two were tricked into a fake interview with a report from Nation Newspaper and got arrested.

However, Peter Blessings said there were a lot of lies Bahati had said in the video, and he choose to reserve his response because the case was already in the Court of Law.

Bahati is set to testify during the next hearing in April 9th, 2020.
