Renowned Kenyan comedian Sammy Kioko started his rib cracking jokes at a young age when he was still in primary school. His talent in comedy started picking in high school during drama festivals.
During a recent interview on Switch TV's Chatspot with Nana Owiti, Kush Tracey and Joyce Maina on Switch TV's he intimated that his friends would always insist that he get on the stage and perform what he was already good at. His talent later expanded when in university where he also ventured and performed in drama festivals. The next stage for him would be from where we have come to interact with his unique style of comedy.
Before he joined Kenya’s top comedy show ‘Churchill show’, he starred in set book roles, imitating the comical characters and this built his gift even more. Later he would go on to join KBC’s Comedy Arena. There was a shocker from the interview though Sammy is a graduate teacher by profession, his subjects of specialization; History and Kiswahili. During the interview Sammy suprisingly said that he had a passion teachering ever since he was a child and this was because of his love for social interaction.
This, comically he pursed up to the attachment level. Teachers at this stage of their careers are popularly known as TPs (Teaching Practise)
Being a man who loves challenging himself, he decided to venture into Digital content creation by launching his YouTube channel which has more than 200 thousand subscribers and growing. His first major gig on the platform is was a film by the title ‘Sweet Moyo’ which has done extremely well.
