Luoyang, one of China’s most historic cities, has embraced modern infrastructure with the launch of its first metro line, funded by a $300 million sovereign loan from the BRICS New Development Bank. The metro line, which spans over 25 kilometers and features 19 stations, began operations in 2021. Earlier this year, officials and experts gathered in Beijing to assess the project’s impact, highlighting its success in blending historical heritage with contemporary development.
