The art of engraving on metals, particularly copper, in Algeria has been acknowledged as a valuable contribution to humanity's cultural heritage by UNESCO. Recently added to UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Algerian copper engraving craft is celebrated across various cities in the country. Different regions are known for their expertise in engraving on various metals, with Tamenrasset and Kabylie renowned for silver engraving.
