Lavender fields in full bloom are captivating tourists in the Ili River Valley of northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Spanning over 5,000 hectares, Ili ranks as the world's third-largest lavender production base, following Provence in France and Hokkaido in Japan. Unlike its counterparts, Xinjiang's lavender blooms twice during the summer: once in late June and again in late September, providing ample opportunities for visitors to savor the picturesque landscapes.
