Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown, faces a looming water crisis as deforestation in surrounding areas threatens its main water source. Alie Kabba, Director of Corporate Services at the Guma Valley Water Company, warns that unchecked deforestation is causing soil erosion and siltation, degrading water quality and reducing the flow of rivers that feed the city's reservoirs.
