The fight against the Mpox outbreak is being scaled up across the African continent. A strategy known as the One Continental plan has been drafted by the WHO and the ACDC. Most African countries cannot afford to buy the vaccine from Western manufacturers despite more than 22000 infections since the beginning of this year. WHO and ACDC have secured vaccines for the 13 African countries that have reported cases of infections.
