China's nationwide home appliance trade-in campaign is thriving, attracting consumers eager to exchange old items for smart, green, and low-carbon alternatives. Launched by the State Council in March, the campaign offers subsidies and discounts on white goods. By mid-May, Shanghai alone saw 77,000 orders filled and 83 million U.S. dollars in subsidies distributed. One appliance brand in Shanghai reported a 200 percent month-on-month increase in sales of their eco-friendly products.
